Question 1                                                                                                                       [25]                                                                                                                                              

Write a composition (in approximately 400 – 450 words) on any one of the following subjects:                                                                                                                                 (You are reminded that you will be rewarded for orderly and coherent presentation of material, use of appropriate style and general accuracy of spelling, punctuation and grammar.)

(a)  Suppose you are a journalist and you are out on a survey on the future PM of 2019. On the basis of the question ‘Who do you want to see PM in 2019?’, make supplementary question to the interviewees. But you saw that the persons whom you approached to for interview do not want to speak, how will you try your best make him agree and feel comfortable to have interview?

(b)  Write an essay on the impact of social media in changing human behavioural pattern.

(c)  Express your views on ‘Craven dies many times before their death’.

(d)  ‘Each student must have a right to pick only those discipline he is interested in’. Argue for or against the given statement.

(e)  Write an original short story beginning with the following words:

‘You know, human tongue is a boneless flexible organ......’

(f)   One day your parents had gone out for three days. You and your siblings were at home. Narrate how you took care of them focusing on your first experience of cooking.

(a)  As a reporter you have visited a number of places in Kerala after flood. Write a newspaper report in not more than 300 words, entitled "The Land of Parasurama  is devastated by devilish flood" based on the following points:

Date: 8th August, 2018 - Vast areas of Kerala - all the dams of the state were filled to capacity - dams were opened to keep it safe - incessant rains - approximately 370 died – thousands of homes affected and damaged - million people had to take shelter in relief camps - will take many months of hard working to bring life normalcy - the entire nation has come forward to lend a helping hand to

the Kerala flood victims - one of the victims pathetic condition - attempts by the government to prevent diseases.

(b)  You want to become the head girl of your class. Now write a proposal in not more than 150 words to intrigue other students why they would elect you as a head girl.
